8 Tips To Stay Motivated This Winter
A healthy and balanced lifestyle should be maintained throughout the entire year, not matter what season it is. Here are some tips to help keep you stay motivated during winter months to continue with the fat-busting workouts and non-stop progress!
#1 Alarm Clock
Instead of the usual annoying alarm clock, choose a specific song that gets you going!
#2 Plan the next 12-20 weeks
It’s easy to lose track of what you are doing. Have a calendar and highlight the days you are going to work out, write which workout you are going to do and the duration. This covers you from January to May, most importantly STICK TO IT!
#3 Dress the part
If the norm is wearing shorts and a tank top, then of course you’re going to freeze! There is no such thing as bad weather, dress the part and make good clothing choices!
#4 Warm up indoors
If you’re going for a run, or doing plyometrics in the garden, do a warm up indoors so that you warm up efficiently and ready to tackle the cold,
#5 Carb up
Your body craves carbs when days get shorter. Be careful not to lose sight of your goals, and chose healthy options. Incorporate carbs like sweet potatoes or wholegrain pasta into your diet so that you feel satisfied and don’t feel the need to gorge on chocolate or chips!
#6 Set Attainable Goals & New Challenges!
Don’t just choose to exercise this winter, create goals that you really want and that will stretch you beyond your comfort zone to reach them! Once you’ve achieved your goals treat yourself to a cheat meal!
#7 Partner up!
It can be quite difficult to find motivation to work out on your own on a dark cold winter day. Partner up with a friend; hold each other accountable and push each other to achieve more!
#8 Take Pictures
This can be a great motivator, take pictures every 4 weeks and see how well you are progressing. You don’t need winter fat to keep you warm, we have fireplaces and heating systems to do that for us.
